SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The SCHSL appellate panel on Friday voted 3-2 to move South Florence and West Florence High Schools from 5A to 4A after appeals challenged the earlier 5A classifications, and the changes will take effect for the 2026-28 season. WMBF News
- ➤ The Pee Dee IceCats returned last April to Florence to revive professional hockey, drawing nearly 3,900 fans per game. The team will soon launch a youth program to give local kids another sporting opportunity (an effort to build lasting community support). WMBF News
