GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor McMaster declared a state of emergency on Wednesday to prepare for a winter storm that will bring sleet, ice, and snow starting Saturday. State agencies and the National Guard are set to act quickly to keep residents safe. WMBF News
- ➤ Florence County officials have placed deputies on standby and urged residents to stay off the roads as dangerous winter weather develops in the county today, with authorities advising people to stock up on essentials and drive cautiously if travel is unavoidable. WMBF News
- ➤ South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond announced Wednesday that his office launched an online system for trademark, service mark, and livestock brand registration. The system (with a searchable database and downloadable certificates) lowers costs and speeds up processing for entrepreneurs. WPDE
