- ➤ Dargan’s Pond, a popular local fishing spot near the border of Darlington and Florence counties, remains closed nearly a decade after Hurricane Matthew damaged it in Oct. 2016. Clemson University estimates $7.5 million in repairs are needed after $2.1 million in state funds, so the pond will not reopen soon. The Post and Courier

- ➤ Gas prices in South Carolina rose 5.6 cents on Monday to average $2.63 per gallon at 3,028 stations—GasBuddy data shows prices are 8.8 cents higher than a month ago and 4.1 cents lower than a year ago. Analysts predict further increases as markets adjust after weekend U.S.—Iran attacks. WPDE
