- ➤ Urban renewal led to hundreds of historic downtown buildings being demolished and replaced by modern structures and parking lots. Local officials are now working to preserve heritage by refurbishing Carolina Theatre and planning to restore Florence Pharmacy (a notable site). The Post and Courier
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Florence officials are launching a 50M sewer upgrade to fix recurring sewage overflows into Jeffries Creek that have caused odor complaints. Bids for emergency construction are set for March 17 and the first phase will finish in 2028 & residents are asked to report any future problems. WMBF News
