- ➤ Florence 1 Schools will lower taxes by dropping the millage to 44 mills and have approved a nearly $25 million bond for school maintenance and upgrades + they are partnering with HopeHealth to build a 10-home tiny community on Douglas Street with groundbreaking set for March 31. WPDE
- ➤ Meagan Johnson of Royall Elementary is named one of five finalists for South Carolina Teacher of the Year — she will receive $10,000 and advance to an interview stage. Johnson is recognized for developing learning experiences for kindergarteners with disabilities, marking the first finalist from Florence County since 2016. WFXB

- ➤ South Carolina Department of Natural Resources released hatchery-raised southern flounder into state estuaries Friday, marking the first event of its kind (a milestone for local conservation). WPDE
