  • A crash on Sunday just after noon in Florence County near Kimberly Lane killed one person when a Honda struck a turning Chevrolet—both drivers were taken to the hospital with conditions unknown.  WFXB

  • La Perla Tapatia, a traditional Mexican restaurant, is set to open in May at 1712 W. Palmetto St. The Perez family—known for their local eateries like Mi Tierra San Jose, El Agave, and El Dos Agaves—leased and is renovating the former Lizard's Thicket building to serve authentic dishes while waiting for a liquor license.  The Post and Courier

  • Byron Bethea was accused of chasing two people with a gun in a Florence hotel parking lot after a fight at a Days Inn on Dunbarton Drive—records show he faced charges of first-degree assault and battery and pointing and presenting before being released on bond Monday.  WMBF News

  • Poll managers reported low early voting turnout in the special election for the at large Florence City Council seat — voters can vote at Mt. Zion AME Church on East Cheves Street or at the Florence County Voter Registration and Elections Office. Early voting ends Friday — the election takes place April 1.  WPDE
