Today, South Carolina has lifted its statewide burn ban, but officials warn that dry conditions and an ongoing drought keep wildfire risk high.

Residents are reminded to notify the forestry commission when burning outdoors (per state law) to help crews respond quickly.

After a burn ban placed Friday due to low humidity and gusty winds, the SC Forestry Commission lifted the ban today, though ongoing drought keeps wildfire risk high.
