ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 62-year-old woman was attacked by three dogs while working in her yard on Big Swamp Road in Pamplico on Sunday afternoon—she underwent surgery and remains in the hospital—and officials said the dogs' owner surrendered the animals and faces possible citations.  WPDE

  • Two men were arrested after an undercover investigation led to multiple drugs being seized at a Florence home — the Florence County Sheriff's Office says they face drug charges.  SCNow

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bryan Stirling, who served as the longest-running corrections director overseeing 16,500 inmates and 21 prisons, was appointed as U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and took his oath at the District Courthouse—he will lead a team of 120 prosecutors with offices in Columbia, Charleston, Florence and Greenville.  WPDE
