ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A two-vehicle crash occurred in Florence County on Thursday near Pine Needles Road near South Dunes Drive when one vehicle overturned and trapped two people, who were taken to hospitals for treatment — their conditions are unknown — as the Highway Patrol investigates.  WFXB

CRIME NEWS

  • Florence police are seeking South Carolina Department of Corrections inmate Ulysses Conner Jr. who left his night shift at Bojangles on Celebration Boulevard after being seen taking out trash at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and they ask anyone with information to contact Florence County authorities (tips welcomed).  WFXB
  • On Thursday, Florence police arrested 17-year-old Ezekiel Washington—who reportedly tried to rob Dollar General at 370 N Cashua Dr by presenting a note to the cashier and fleeing—with surveillance tracking his car to the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and booking him at Florence County Detention Center with no bond.  WMBF News
  • Authorities are searching for Ulysses Steven Conner Jr.—a Department of Corrections inmate who left his Florence Bojangles job on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. while taking out trash—and ask anyone with information to call 911.  WBTW

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • West Florence Fire Rescue crews are on the scene of a three-acre wildfire near Interstate 95 in the 2100 block of West Lucas Street—firefighters are containing the slow-burning flames with support from the South Carolina Forestry Commission while no structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported.  WBTW
