Palmetto Street—closed after an electrical fire on April 25, and its co-owners are working with insurance and contractors to repair the kitchen with plans to reopen in two months. - ➤ A multi-vehicle crash on Hwy. 378 near Johnsonville in lower Florence County resulted in one fatality and two injuries on Tuesday morning—all lanes between Capitola Road and the Marion County line were closed as first responders worked on the scene. WPDE

- ➤ South Carolina voted Tuesday to remove 10 books from all public schools for all grade levels, bringing the total banned or restricted books to 22. This decision makes the state the national leader in school book bans—surpassing Utah, according to the ACLU. WPDE
