COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lynches River County Park has opened a 10-mile equestrian trail with a challenge segment and an equestrian campsite at the former family campground. An official opening ceremony will take place in the fall to celebrate the park’s new public horse space.  The Post and Courier

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Dominion Energy is 25% complete with a 14.5-mile gas pipeline along Old River Road near Pamplico & the project is expected to enhance local energy infrastructure.  SCNow

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The family of longtime educator John H. Carey (who taught for 45 years) and the National Action Network held a press conference Monday at the district office after Florence 1 Schools declined to rename Williams Middle School’s gym in his honor; a petition circulating urges the board to reconsider.  WPDE
  • Francis Marion University celebrated its Spring 2026 graduates with ceremonies over two days—honoring 342 students with both academic and honorary degrees on campus.  SCNow
