ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fewer fatal motorcycle crashes have been reported in 2026 than at this point last year, according to the SCDPS (South Carolina Department of Public Safety). Officials are monitoring the trend as they work to improve road safety. WPDE
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Florence-Darlington Technical College’s president (Dr. Jermaine Ford) resigned after serving since 2021 and the area commission accepted his resignation last week. The college has yet to announce who will serve as interim president. WFXB
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Florence Housing Authority announced an $86 million project to upgrade two aging apartment complexes, with Oakland Place scheduled for demolition and new construction and Church Hill planned for full rehabilitation beginning this fall. Residents will remain onsite during the two-year work. The Post and Courier
