- ➤ A Florence County man is accused of threatening to bring multiple guns to a local hospital to kill people, sheriff’s office officials said. WMBF News
- ➤ A security guard, Melvin Gibson, 39, was fatally shot at Qulture lounge on East Palmetto Street early Sunday at around 4 a.m.—six others were injured in a parking lot fight, and his family now seeks justice as investigators work to arrest those involved. WPDE

- ➤ South Carolina Shellfish Grounds and Public Shellfish Grounds will close on May 28—when the season ends half an hour after sunset—according to the SCDNR. The closure is due to higher water temperatures above 80 degrees that limit summer shellfish harvesting in coastal waters until fall. WPDE
