- ➤ Florence police said a shooting on North Irby Street at 1:30 a.m. on June 19 left one person dead and another in critical condition—investigators are working with the county sheriff to identify the shooter. The Post and Courier
- ➤ Florence police investigated a double shooting on North Irby Street that occurred at 1:30 a.m. Thursday—two victims were found on the sidewalk, with one dying and the other in critical condition as the investigation continues with help from the Florence County Coroner’s office. WPDE
- ➤ Mark B. Browder filed a lawsuit against the Florence County Sheriff's Department after his 2008 GMC collided head-on with Deputy Nathaniel M. Ansay’s 2023 Ford near 301 Deer Processing on Olanta Highway on May 20, killing the deputy — Browder seeks compensation for lost wages, medical bills and attorney fees while alleging gross negligence in the department's hiring, training and supervision practices.
