Good morning, Florence.

Florence food truck park owners said road work on Holly Circle hurt their business by confusing drivers and adding extra travel time, with one owner noting a 50% loss in the first week and 64% the following week.

Kaylea and Wade Holt of Eats On the Creek said they received little notice from SCDOT, which planned the project to widen the road and add turn lanes—leaving vendors with questions about communication and timing.

The Florence County coroner identified a person whose dismembered remains were found in containers at a local home last week — no further details have been released.

Florence resident Emmanuel Brown, 28, was shot in his car on Livingston Lane early Thursday and died on Friday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center—Horry County police are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Starting this fall, South Carolina’s DMV will mail driver’s licenses and ID cards after customers submit documents and complete testing at a branch.

The redesigned cards, made with stronger materials and advanced security features—designed to prevent counterfeiting—will be produced centrally while current licenses remain valid until they expire.
