Chris Long is the first patient at MUSC Health to receive the Alzheimer's drug Leqembi and is doing well more than a year and a half into his treatment while vacationing in Michigan (he is set to resume infusions in South Carolina in the fall).
Doctors say the medication slows the disease's progression, though it is not a cure and must be carefully monitored.
