Good morning, Florence.

The Jade Bridge opened a visitation room at Immanuel Baptist Church on the 300 block of Cherokee Road in Florence — a safe space for foster children to meet their court-approved biological parents.

An open house was held Friday afternoon — and the organization hopes the room will offer support and connection for families in need.

SCOR and the City of Florence began construction on the Pennsylvania Street Stormwater Mitigation Project the week of July 28 to reduce flooding and benefit nearly three-quarters of local residents — crews are installing over 1,300 feet of new pipe and 2,380 feet of drainage cleaning along multiple streets — to improve mobility and reduce flood risks in the area.
