CRIME NEWS

  • A 33-year-old Florence woman was arrested Friday by the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Office after she allegedly worked with an inmate to try to bring contraband into prison—law enforcement said the arrest followed multiple conversations between July 1 and Aug. 4 along with a request for payment via CashApp.  WPDE
  • Timmonsville police said they rescued eight dogs showing signs of severe neglect and dogfighting injuries from a property while Humane World for Animals cared for them, and 27-year-old Saquan Brown now faces multiple charges of animal fighting and cruelty— the investigation continues.  WPDE
  • During a routine I-95 traffic stop in Florence County, authorities arrested two men after seizing over 100 lbs. of marijuana in a drug trafficking bust.  WMBF News
  • On Wednesday, deputies stopped a vehicle on I-95 near the 170 mile marker and arrested two men after finding over 100 pounds of marijuana in 120 vacuum-sealed packages valued at $120,000—both are now held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.  WPDE

  • The City of Florence said wastewater overflow was reported last Friday from a manhole at 3300 W. Palmetto Street and another near 528 Woody Jones Blvd adjacent to the city trail system—officials are checking the issue to prevent further problems.  SCNow
