CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Florence police are searching for Justin Mitchell—accused of entering a woman's residence and shoving her—after a large law enforcement presence was seen around 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Marion and Harrell Streets; officers in tactical gear, negotiators, an emergency response team, and a drone cleared the scene by 5 p.m. when his location remained unknown. - ➤ A teen girl charged in Trey Wright's murder was released to her family's custody after a Friday morning hearing at the Florence County Judicial Center—she is one of nine suspects in the case, with eight already released on bond. WPDE
- ➤ Florence police arrested Darnell Antonio Richardson, 37, for attempted murder and other firearm charges after he allegedly pointed a handgun and fired a round during two altercations on June 25, 2021—he was extradited from Paducah on Aug. 19 and is held at the Florence County Detention Center. - ➤ Darnell Richardson, the suspect in a 2021 shooting, was arrested Tuesday in Paducah, Kentucky — and will be extradited back to Florence to face charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and pointing a firearm. WFXB
