  • Carter's Inc. announced its support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to combat youth learning loss and boost early learning and arts programs; Florence customers can donate $1, $3, or $5 at local Carter's stores until October 18.  WPDE

CRIME NEWS

  • Florence police are investigating an assault at Walmart on 2014 S Irby Street—an incident that began when an employee asked for a receipt from two customers, one pushed the employee, and the fight broke out before another customer intervened and the others fled.  WPDE
  • Florence police arrested an unnamed minor on Monday on charges including attempted murder and burglary—charges coming from a shooting at the Sedgefield Apartments on Valparaiso Drive early Sunday that left a vehicle damaged and items stolen but no injuries reported.  WMBF News
