- ➤ After over a year on the run, 26-year-old Christopher Brown was arrested in Florence for his role in a convenience store shooting on April 26—deputies said he was charged with pointing a firearm, causing property damage and other gun-related offenses after a fight that left a store attendant with a grazed neck. - ➤ A man who had been on the run for over a year was arrested in Florence County in connection with a convenience store shooting—authorities said he is now in custody. WMBF News
- ➤ A man with a gunshot wound showed up at the Hot Spot store on Highway 76 in Timmonsville Tuesday and later died, police said — investigators are following leads. WPDE
- ➤ A juvenile was arrested and charged with attempted murder, burglary, and weapons offenses after firing several shots that struck a vehicle near the Sedgefield Apartments on Valparaiso Drive in Florence just before 4 a.m. Sunday. WFXB
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ During Labor Day weekend, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources will offer free boat inspections at stations across several counties to check for required safety equipment and proper boat and motor registrations. Boaters who do not meet the guidelines will have a chance to correct issues before launching — officers will also provide tips and answer questions. WFXB
