- ➤ Yesterday, a multi-vehicle crash blocked westbound lanes of Pamplico Highway at Willow Creek Road—Florence County Emergency Management said a deputy and others were taken to the hospital and advised drivers to allow extra time and use alternate routes. WPDE

- ➤ Florence native Grace Miller Moody, a contestant on NBC’s The Voice, will perform at the Florence County Progress Fall Networking Event on Sept. 4 at The Waters Building—she will headline with her band and join a reception to meet local community members. WMBF News

- ➤ The timber industry in South Carolina faced major setbacks after key mills closed in Darlington and Estill, cutting wood production and hurting local loggers.
