  • The Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem Program seeks local volunteers in Florence County to support abused children in Family Court. It offers free online training on September 30 and requires volunteers to be 21 or older with a clean criminal and DSS history and a 4 to 5 hour monthly commitment—an effort to serve 133 children in need.  SCNow
  • The Lowcountry Food Bank announced Tuesday that it installed 28 food lockers at the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Murrells Inlet so residents can access free, nutritious food outside normal pantry hours—online orders allow scheduling pickups at convenient times.  WPDE

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A school bus carrying six students collided with a car on East Old Marion Highway—between North Firetower Road and Taylor Hill Circle—on Tuesday, with no injuries to students but the bus driver was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.  WMBF News
