- ➤ Yesterday marked the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Florence making landfall in Wrightsville Beach on Sept. 14, 2018 — the storm brought record rainfall and severe flooding to eastern North Carolina and Florence. The hurricane took 51 lives, damaged many homes and businesses, and left billions in losses. WPDE
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Faith Healthcare Center will move from its West Sumter Street facility to a new building at West Lucas Street near Seminar Brewing and Elliott’s BBQ Lounge because its current building could not be upgraded — the city will redevelop the old site into single-family homes as part of its Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy. - ➤ McLeod Health Foundation received $1M from The Duke Endowment on Monday to expand its SANE program—boosting sex assault exam services—and to enhance staffing for its Pediatric Behavioral Health Crisis Stabilization Unit.
