➤ Florence County Council tabled a proposal to provide Lake City a $600,000 loan at 5% interest for 12 months to help the city manage cash flow issues from staff cuts and rising costs — Councilman Jason Springs said the loan will only move forward if the city makes significant expenditure cuts. SPORTS NEWS

➤ IceCats hockey tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m.—Ticketmaster will show them from Wed, Sept. 24 at noon and the first home game is set for Oct. 10. The team will also hold a free Blue-White Scrimmage on Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Florence Center. WPDE
