  • The Carolina Theatre in downtown Florence is being restored and it may open in spring 2026. The project aims to renew the historic venue—supporting a fresh hub for local arts.  SCNow

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Scientists discovered the rare plant Amorpha georgiana at Independence Farm — a Florence County forest set to become a park where experts say the plant is not thriving. County officials approved up to $11,000 for management services and restoration work such as selective logging and thinning pine trees to help conserve the species.  The Post and Courier
