- ➤ Florence School District 3’s Board of Trustees approved the next phase of facility improvements and upgrades at its regular monthly meeting on Thursday evening. SCNow

- ➤ Dr. Robin Hudson (pediatrician at Tidelands Health) offered families safety tips for Halloween trick-or-treating and warned that drivers should be alert around 6:30 p.m. when the sun sets. She advised using glow-in-the-dark gear and planning a meeting spot in case someone gets separated. WPDE

- ➤ Football will return Friday night when Aynor High School meets Waccamaw High School in the Friday Night Rivals game airing on ABC15 and streaming live at wpde.com; Conway Medical Center will donate $5,000 in school grants and another sponsor will award a $5,000 scholarship to a scholar athlete at season's end.
