- ➤ The director of a now-closed charter school filed a lawsuit against Florence 1 Schools & its superintendent, accusing them of defamation. The suit was filed after the school closed, and further details of the claim are pending. WMBF News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Federal employees at Florence Regional Airport will miss a paycheck today because the government shutdown, which began Oct. 1, has halted TSA and FAA paychecks. The airport started a free lunch program on Oct. 15—local businesses like the Chamber of Commerce, Jebaily Law Firm and HillSouth iT Solutions helped provide meals and gift cards.
