  • United Way Worldwide and the U.S. 211 network launched a new food assistance tool to help Florence County families find food pantries and meal programs as SNAP delays increase food insecurity amid the ongoing federal shutdown. The online Food Resource Finder lets users search by ZIP code—a critical aid for residents in need.  The Post and Courier
  • On Nov. 4, local winners gathered in downtown Florence for the second annual Twenty Under Forty reception—where Post and Courier Pee Dee honored young professionals for their achievements. Overall winners Stephanie Grosick of Florence County Economic Development Partnership and Jon Weiss Jr. of House of Hope of the Pee Dee received framed certificates—marking a celebration of community success.  The Post and Courier
  • Myrtle Vegas and Riptydz will host their inaugural charity event at Riptydz Oceanfront Grille and Rooftop Bar on Sunday from 11am—5pm; tickets cost $33.85 and include buffet food, one drink, and two raffle tickets with a portion of proceeds benefiting Help-4-Kids and Backpack Buddies. The event will also feature a DJ, a photobooth, and NFL game viewings.  WFXB

  • Justin Moore has been added to the Carolina Country Music Festival lineup. He will take the stage during the festival held June 4–7—his hit single 'This Is My Dirt' recently reached No. 1 following his duet with Priscilla Block.  WFXB

  • FLORENCE—Francis Marion University has appointed Dr. Jennifer Titanski-Hooper as its new vice president of research and community service—she will join the university’s leadership team.  SCNow
  • The City of Florence Veterans Park Committee will hold the 17th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11 to honor local veterans.  SCNow
