Nearly 300 people attended the annual Veterans Day ceremony Tuesday morning at Florence Center — moved indoors because of cold weather.

The event featured patriotic songs from the Wilson High School chorus, remarks from Florence Mayor Lethonia 'Peaches' Barnes, and a dedication of an amphitheater to Barringer F. Wingard Jr. with 10 veteran names added to the Wall of Honor.

Darlington Raceway will open its gates on November 15 for a charity event that combines racing fun and holiday spirit—promising a festive day for local guests.
