  • Images from the Veterans Day ceremony at the Florence Center were released to show how local leaders honored veterans—featuring speeches and patriotic displays.   • Women in Philanthropy announced 2025 grant awards, giving $40,000 to 10 local nonprofits that support children and families in the Pee Dee region — the funds will aid programs in mental health, cancer support, and women’s empowerment. The grants were approved by the organization’s committee and will help enhance essential community services.  The Post and Courier

HEALTH NEWS

  • Public Health officials are asking faith-based groups to provide input in a survey aimed at strengthening local partnerships for community health. The Healthy Faith Partnerships initiative led by DPH hopes to build stronger connections—giving local groups a role in shaping health efforts.  WPDE

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Construction is underway on the four-story, 102-unit Gamble Apartments at the corner of Coit and Baroody Streets in downtown Florence—part of a $65 million Urban Square project that will include townhomes, a hotel, office space and a parking deck. City Councilman George Jebaily announced the project to revitalize downtown while paying homage to the historic Gamble’s Hotel site.  The Post and Courier
