  • The City of Florence will hold an Arbor Day Observance on Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. at Dr. Iola Jones Park at 608 E. Maxwell Street.  SCNow
  • Florence residents will celebrate Thanksgiving in Timrod Park—organized by Bryan and Judy Ransom—as they join for a communal meal and gathering.  SCNow
  • Florence Mahjong, a local group led by Lauren Vause and Courtney Byrd, uses the Chinese game to raise money and goods for nonprofits in the Pee Dee. They raised over $13,000 at an October 21 event — and today hold a second fundraiser at Pieces on Celebration Blvd — asking players to donate canned goods for Manna House.  The Post and Courier

  • About 40 workers at International Knife and Saw lost their jobs after the firm sold its assets to TKM—only about 20 employees will stay while HR helps the affected team members find new opportunities.  WPDE
