EDUCATION NEWS

  • Teacher Casey Cooper from Hannah-Pamplico High School was named South Carolina Health Science Educators Teacher of the Year 2025 by the SC Association of Career and Technical Education for her work in expanding hands-on learning and forging partnerships with healthcare providers—steps that have improved training for students and guided other health science teachers regionally.  The Post and Courier

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • South Carolina’s Child Care Scholarship Program stopped accepting new and renewal applications from Monday due to a shortage of federal COVID-19 relief funds — the pause applies to applicants who are not in protected categories such as those receiving TANF or child welfare services. Current recipients will continue to receive services, and officials expect to resume accepting applications after January if additional funding is available.  WPDE
