➤ On Thursday evening, a tree fell on Grace Summers' home on Fairview Circle in the Johnsonville community and caused severe damage that left her family without a place to stay. Her sister Barbara Black, a community leader, is working to provide support and plan repairs. WPDE
➤ A group of senior citizens from Timmonsville is gaining national attention for its Tuesday walk that gets nearly 30,000 views a week & supports their active lifestyles. CRIME NEWS

➤ Police investigated a shooting on the 800 block of Bradford Street in Florence Friday morning—one person was rushed to the hospital and their condition remains unknown. WMBF News

EDUCATION NEWS

➤ McLeod Health donated over $200,000 to support nursing programs at Francis Marion University—Florence-Darlington Technical College—and Coker University. Each school received $75,000 to expand accreditation and prepare nursing students for careers in healthcare. The Post and Courier

➤ Florence-Darlington Technical College announced Clint Moore as the new chairperson of the FDTC Area Commission.
